From Michael Totten on Iraq (Read the whole thing):

I stepped inside the school yard. Hundreds of children saw me and the Marines, and the whole place erupted in screams of excitement. It was as if Britney Spears or the guy from Coldplay had shown up. The volume was just extraordinary and I took a few steps back in surprise. (HT: Hugh Hewitt)

This is from part two of Michael Totten’s “The Liberation of Karmah.” Read part one here. Part one explains how the military gained control of Karmah. But part two is extraordinary in pointing out how the US military is changing so many people’s lives for the better. I am proud of my country and our military.

It was also very interesting to read how much these Iraqis have many of the same electronic devices we do (plasma TVs, computers, etc.), but they keep the outside of their houses looking run down (to not attract attention?).

Now, we need to pray for missionaries with the heart of Jesus to help the Iraqis complete their liberation. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

And, BTW, what or who is Coldplay?
